YOUTH

At Buxton Church in the Peak our young people are an integral part of church life and can be seen serving in many ministries.

Youth Group
Our Youth Group meets on Friday nights at the Buxton Community Church building 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

A typical evening consists of a mixture of computer games, table football, scalectrix, hair dressing, nail painting, table tennis, pool, tuck shop, dance mats etc. Most weeks also have a short “God slot”!

Youth Cells
Youth cells are grouped by age and meet midweek in homes around Buxton. Here there is an opportunity for young people to dig deeper into the Bible and develop friendships with other Christians of their own age. Young people are encouraged to draw closer to God, discover and develop their gifts and use them in serving the church.

Newday

Our Youth have particularly enjoyed their annual week away at Newday. This Bible camp, organised by Newfrontiers has been a significant time with many making life changing decisions to follow Jesus.

Sunday Mornings
Our youth are very involved on a Sunday morning and can be seen in the band, helping in crèche and children’s work, serving drinks and helping with setup. They enjoy worship with the rest of the church before the younger youth (school years 6 to 9) go out for their own study group.

Discipleship
For any young people wanting to deepen their walk with God we coordinate them being discipled by more mature Christians (either one to one or in pairs). This has proved to be a very rewarding arrangement, not just for those being discipled.

* All of our children's and youth workers are CRB checked and adhere to the church's Child Protection Policy.
